Open Call
Soloists with the Windissimo Orchestra | season 2026/2027
The Windissimo workshop is announcing an open call for players of flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, and bassoon who are interested in performing as soloists with the orchestra as part of one of the workshops in the 2026/2027 season.
The aim of this open call is to offer space for collaboration, artistic growth, and gaining valuable experience in the role of a soloist with an orchestra
Who we are looking for:
– students of music and art schools and conservatories
– players interested in solo performance with an orchestra
– individuals open to collaboration, working with a conductor, and the collective process
What we offer:
– the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Windissimo Orchestra as part of one of the workshops in the 2026/27 season.
– intensive work during the workshop (rehearsal + dress rehearsal)
– a public performance as part of the workshop’s final concert + a recording of it
Repertoire:
– repertoire proposals are submitted by the applicant already in the application, including sheet music material (solo part + piano accompaniment or chords)
– original compositions, concert pieces, as well as arrangements of film or popular music are possible
– max. length 7 min.
How to apply:
Applicants should fill out the application form (see below), including:
– a short artistic CV/bio summary (a few sentences)
– a link to 1-3 video recordings (any pieces; they do not have to be repertoire for a solo performance with the orchestra)
– a repertoire proposal (1-3 pieces/movements), including sheet music in PDF (solo part + piano accompaniment or chords)
Selection of applicants:
Participants will be selected based on the submitted materials with regard to:
– artistic level appropriate to the applicant’s age
– suitability of the repertoire
– the workshop’s dramaturgical possibilities
Dates:
Interested applicants should complete the application form (see below) during the period between the opening and closing of the call for applications:
Opening of the call: 20 Feb 2026
Application deadline: 31 Aug 2026
Solo performance realization: one of the Windissimo workshops in the 2026/2027 season
Preliminary workshop dates: 10 Oct 2026; 6 Feb 2027; 23–24 Aug 2027
